Computer Tomography

Multilayer computer tomography equipment manufactured by PHILLIPS Medical Systems is used for axial and spiral research. Injector systems for intravenous injections of X-ray contrast substances facilitates computer angiography. Advanced software and technical means guarantee highest quality of computer tomography for rib cage, abdomen, pelvis, spine and head organs. The department uses laser targeting system employing three-dimensional planning program for preparation for radiotherapy.

  Nuclear Medicine  
 
 
 

In Lissod, nuclear medicine department, diagnostic procedures are performed in accordance with the latest world's achievements. Nuclear medicine methods' advantages are their high sensitivity, capability to identify not only structural, but also functional changes of organs under examination, as well as capability of simultaneous visualization of all parts of the body system in question with relatively small exposure to radiation.

The department is e quipped with modern scintillational gamma-camera, representing a complicated computer-scintigraphis complex, which allows gathering, saving and processing of single organ, system or the entire body images in wide range of scintigraphic regimes: static and dynamic, planar and tomographic.

Use of 3-dimensional tomography with image reconstruction capability allows identifying up to 30% pathological changes more in comparison with standard planar regimes.

Mammology


In recent 10 years, breast tumors are on the top of female oncology list.
Currently, developed countries use X-ray mammography screening system for women over 40, which resulted in significant decrease of annual death rate for women, who underwent such tests. Today, X-ray mammography screening is widely recognized as "golden standard" for detecting asymptomatic and impalpable tumors, as well as other breast diseases.

In Lissod we developed an effective system for breast tests, based on comprehensive approach and integration of advanced beam diagnostics methods, including mammography tests using the world leading, unique in the Ukraine equipment manufactured by American LORAD. The equipment employs three-dimensional dopplers allowing detection of pathological changes at the very early stage.

Use of "mammotome" coupled with absolutely unique stereotaxic digital biopsy table manufactured by LORAD, allows precise detection of any pathological change in the breast and subsequent removal of tumors of up to 1,5 cm in diameter, avoiding open surgery biopsy.

Maximal precision of the above procedure is computer monitored within space coordinates and allows data gathering on tissue level, rather than cell level only. The precision of the technology reaches 95%.

The described methodologies and equipment are absolutely unique for the Ukraine and in many cases, allow avoiding resection of part of or the whole breast.
