Do you undergo examination with gynecologist on a regular basis? We hope that after you learn more about screening of cervical carcinoma you will reply with a positive answer in 100% of the cases.

Unlike other cancer diseases, cervical cancer does not depend on the age and the inheritance characteristics. One positive thing is that cervical cancer is one of the “visual forms of cancer”, which can be diagnosed during examination.

However, 5000 women become ill with cervical cancer each year in Ukraine. And every fifth Ukrainian dies in one year after being diagnosed with cervical cancer due to the late discovery of the disease.

Cervical cancer screening consists of simple and painless procedures that should be done by all women one year after beginning of their sexual life (or starting from 25 years):

  • examination of gynecologist;
  • olposcopy – examination of neck of uterus with the help of a colposcope;
  • cytological test (Pap-test) is conducted during vaginal examination, during which samples of cells are taken for analysis in the laboratory from the neck using a small brush.

Why To Do It in LISSOD?
  • Screening is performed by Alla Borisovna Vinnytska, Ukrainian specialist, gynecological oncologist, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Head Doctor of LISSOD;
  • Cytological materials are sent to Patho-Lab Diagnostics, Israel, one of the leading laboratories in the world.

Also a modern woman should be aware of another effective method of prevention of cervical cancer, which is carried out in LISSOD. We are speaking about vaccination against two of the most widespread oncogenic strains of human papilloma virus (HPV) - 16 and 18.
