Have you ever thought about the fact, which type of cancer is the most widespread? It is interesting, that the data of global statistics show that most of the people are suffering from diseases of digestive system, occupying the first place also by the number of death cases.

There is another important fact: 90% cases are diagnosed with the people who are older than 50 years of age.

Colorectal cancer screening for should be done by all women and men after reaching 50 years of age on a yearly basis. In LISSOD it is a painless set of procedures, which consists of colonoscopy (visual examination of the walls of large intestine) and feces analysis for occult blood.

It is very important to remember, that if there is a so-called family risk, i.e. there are relatives who have colorectal cancer, than screening should be done earlier than 50 years of age. Incidentally, the number of cases of the disease, which is caused by this factor, is up to 30%.

Why Do It in LISSOD?

  • The procedure is performed by an acting member of American and European Societies of gastrointestinal endoscopy;
  • In our hospital it is an absolutely painless procedure. Anesthetization allows performing a high quality examination;
  • If necessary, right during the process of examination small fragments of tissue (biopsy) may be taken for detailed laboratory analysis;
  • In case of finding out small polyps, they are removed directly during the process of examination.
