Wertheim operation is based on hysterectomy (removal of the uterus with the tumor of the cervix), removal Para cervical tissue and removing the pelvic lymph nodes. The question of the removal of the ovaries is solved with each patient individually. Typically, we reserve the ovaries of the young women to prevent the development post castration syndrome and if necessary, carry out their transposition of the zone of possible post-operative irradiation.In May 2010 in LISSOD Hospital laparoscopic surgery was performed for the first time in Ukraine. Currently we have performed more than 10 surgical interventions with good postoperative results.
