The question of the removal of the ovaries is solved with each patient individually. Typically, we reserve the ovaries of the young women to prevent the development post castration syndrome and if necessary, carry out their transposition of the zone of possible post-operative irradiation.In May 2010 in LISSOD Hospital laparoscopic surgery was performed for the first time in Ukraine. Currently we have performed more than 10 surgical interventions with good postoperative results.

In Memorial LISSOD Hospital vaccination was started by using Gardasil with a view to prevention of cancer cervix . Gardasil vaccine protects from most prevalent oncogenic viruses VPCH 16 and 18, which cause more than 70% of cases of cancer cervix  worldwide. Also, the vaccine protects from VPCH 6 and 11 which cause genital kondylomatoz.In the International symposium in Malaysia  was discussed about effectiveness of Gardasil vaccine against VPCH (Ferris D, Quadrivalent HPV Vaccine Investigators.) Evaluation of quadrivalent HPV 6/11/16/18 vaccine efficacy against cervical disease in subjects with prior vaccine HPV type infection. For the first time in Ukraine on July 2, 2010 in Kyiv was held the international conference on the theme "Malignant formation of the brain. Modern aspects of treatment. " There were leading experts of Ukraine, Israel and Switzerland to discuss important and urgent issues.For the first time LISSOD hospital was heard at the proper level among all the leading government medical institutions in Ukraine - as Scientific Gide in Oncology in Ukraine. Conference was opened by Deputy Minister of Health Mostovenko Raisa.In her speech, she stressed that the international exchange of experiences and best practice will enhance the effectiveness of treatment and diagnosis of brain cancer in Ukraine. The participants of the international conference were specialists of the Institute of Neurosurgery Academician Romodanova, International Centre of Neurosurgery, Memorial LISSOD Hospital, Feofaniya, Boris, Medicom clinics and other medical institutions of Ukraine

On April 16, The International seminar on the theme: "Modern aspects of diagnosis and treatment of colorectal cancer" was held. The relevance of this topic is quite high due to the fact that tumors of the gastrointestinal tract occur most frequently.Participants were welcomed A.B. Vinnitskaya - head doctor of LISSOD.  As a result of three years of work were reported by highly qualified doctors of LISSOD. The main aspect in the reports of the participants were to indicate solutions of existing problems of early diagnosis and high mortality due to colorectal cancer in Ukraine. One of the most important report was represented by Professor Abraham Kooten - Director of Oncology Clinic Medical Center Rambam in Haifa (Israel), a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, etc. He told the audience about new approaches to treatment of colorectal cancer Abroad , noted the high level of LISSOD and full compliance with international standards...

World No Tobacco Day is held annually on May, 31st . It has been scientifically proved that tobacco consummation is the 2nd reason of death, and one of ten adult is dying from it.
Breast Unit. The first one in Ukraine.
May 2009. LISSOD opens the Breast Unit. The complex approach to the breast cancer treatment shows itself very efficient in advanced medical centers of USA, Europe and Israel. Brest Units there are functioning for a few years already. However this was not a case for Ukraine. The LISSOD Breast Unit is the first and the only in our country for the moment.

Breast cancer is the most spread women oncological disease in the whole world. Moreover, it ranks the first place by the reason of women death. Unfortunately, the early detection of breast cancer in Ukraine stands on the very low level compared to world statistics.
Lectures for family doctors
As one of actions in frame of "Womans' health month" project, LISSOD experts have given lecture for Ukrainian family doctors. On March 26th about a hundred family doctors have taken part in conference "Scriining issues in family doctors' practice". LISSOD experts told about standards of ontological screening in European countries. Family doctors have been invited to see how screening is arranged in LISSOD.
Education campaign against cancer
On World Cancer Day, 4 February 2009, Modern Cancer Care Hospital (LISSOD) launched “Cancer should not kill you” yearlong campaign. The first action “Prevention protects health” – is an education program concerning screening and cervical cancer prevention. Our doctors will visits schools in Kiev and give lectures to the parents concerning cervical cancer screening and vaccination against HPV. This action is done with informational support by European Cervical Cancer Association (ECCA), presented in Ukraine by LISSOD.
