Strategic idea of LISSOD clinical oncology is multidisciplinary planning of treatment that consists of surgical operations, radiation therapy, chemotherapy, hormone and immunobiologic medications. This approach allows maximally following the radical treatment principle.

Three classical methods of cancer treatment are used in LISSOD: surgical, chemotherapeutical and radiotherapeutic methods. While choosing one or another method of treatment or their combination, our experienced doctors-oncologists are motivated by multiple factors, individually approaching each person and each problem.

Why LISSOD?

  • It is the single hospital in Ukraine, where modern approved international standards of diagnostics and treatment of cancer diseases are successfully implemented. It allows us to provide the most possible effective treatment depending on the treatment stage.
  • The unique combination of modern equipment (Varian linear accelerators with 3D planning system), modern standards of radiation therapy and the team of highly qualified specialists (radiation oncologists, technicians, medical physicians, clinical oncologists) brackets LISSOD at one level with the most modern and recognized hospitals in the world.
  • Modern chemotherapeutic department with the laboratory for preparation of chemotherapeutic preparations is equipped according to the requirements of the Western standards. Chemotherapy is conducted according to the protocols with application of necessary accompanying therapy which allows reaching the maximal effect in treatment with minimal side effects.
  • In general surgical treatment is minimally traumatic with organs preservation. Individual approach to each patient while choosing the optimal scope of operation. All operations are carried out by leading Western and Ukrainian surgeons.
Radio-therapy
Irradiation therapy is an effective method of cancer treatment. Genetic information of malignant cells is destroyed in the process of exposure of tumor to radiation, and the tumor dies. Actively dividing tumor cells are the most vulnerable; therefore the radiation produces stronger damage of such tumors. However, part of malignant cells can be in the dormant state (interphase) at the moment of irradiation.
Surgery
Specific characteristics of surgical treatment of cancer in LISSOD:
Chemotherapy
Chemotherapy is one of the main components of cancer treatment, and in some cases of malignant new formations, such as lymphoma, small cell lungs carcinoma, Hodgkin's disease etc. - it is the only possible treatment.
