Pathological verification of diagnosis is a corestone of diagnostics and treatment in modern oncology.

Tests directed to investigation of the pathologically changed tissue are the most significant among other laboratory tests. Taking into account the results it’s absolutely possible to determine the existence or the absence of cancer. False results of such tests can be fatal for the patient, since the treatment may be started without any need or not started in case of urgent need.

Therefore we pay very serious attention to validity and verification of the “oncological diagnosis”.

Patho-Lab Diagnostics (Israel) - one of the leading pathological laboratories provides LISSOD with pathology tests. All tissue samples that were produced during surgery operations, biopsies as well as cytological, histological samples are sent there.

It’s very complicated or even impossible to define tissue type and its origin applying the routine methods of histological and cytological tests. Besides routine methods of tests Patho-Lab laboratory applies additional methods such as immunohistochemical tests, and molecular diagnostics methods - PCR, PT-PCR and FISH-tests.

Possibilities of immunohistochemical studies:

  • accurate definition of histogenesis (origin) of tumor;
  • definition of primary site of tumor by metastasis;
  • receptor status definition within some pathologies in order to determine sensitivity of tumor to certain types of therapy.

Additional tests PCR, PT-PCR and FISH-tests on tissues are carried out for diagnosis verification. According to results of these tests it’s possible to define indications to performance of different chemotherapy types, including target therapy drugs.
