Special attention is paid to diagnostic and treatment of pretumor diseases – cervical
intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN), which is cervical cancer prevention. Another prevention
measure that widely applies at LISSOD is vaccination against human papilloma virus
(HPV).
The full diagnostic cycle including vaginal ultrasound, colposcopy, hysteroscopy if
necessary, cytological and urogenital tests, various biopsies and other necessary tests
are provided at gynecological oncologist appointment.
All kinds of gynecological operations on either benignant (fybromyoma, ovarian cistoma)
or malignant tumors are executed at LISSOD.
The possibility of urgent histological test of erased tumor exactly during the operation
provides surgeons with ability to define the necessary surgical volume. The surgical
principles of gynecological cancer diseases combine the necessary oncological radicalism
and maximally sparing, organ preserving treatment. Application of such approach allows
women saving their reproductive and sexual functions that positively influence the
patients’ psycho emotional condition and their social and family adaptation. .
The wide application of laparoscopic operations minimizes negative psychological
perception of executed interventions, reduces the period of in-patient hospital stay and
allows quick coming back to active substantial life. The additional diagnostic tests,
such as computer tomography, nuclear tests provide the doctors with the possibility to
estimate in proper way the level of disease dissemination and to choose the effective
treatment method.
