In 1984, Igor Reut graduated from Irkutsk Medical Institute. In 1985 he finished an internship, then worked as a physician at the Department of Intensive Care in Hospital (Irkutsk) until 1991.  

Later, Dr Raut continued his professional career in Israel, where he worked in medical institutions:

• 1992-1997 Physician at the Department of Intensive Care in hospital (Nahariya), Israel;
  
• 1997-2008  Physician  at the Department of Oncology in Rambam Medical Center (Haifa ), Israel.
  
  

• Hormone therapy in breast cancer (Cambridge, England);

He is currently an active member of professional associations:

• Israel Medical Association (IMA);
• The Israeli Society of Clinical Oncology and Radiation Therapy (ISCORT);
• European Organization for Research and Treatment of Cancer (EORTC);
• International Association of rare types of cancer (RCN).
