Vaccination for prophylaxis of cervix of the uterus cancer

The vaccination program has been worked out in partnership with European Cervical Cancer Association (ECCA).

In LISSOD vaccination is conducted with the usage of Cervarix, protecting against two most widespread oncogenic strains of human papilloma virus (HPV): 16 and 18. These viruses cause more than 70% cases of cervical carcinoma worldwide. This type of initial prevention allows “to teach” the immune system of women to find out efficiently and eliminate viral pathogens in case of them getting into organism even before the beginning of infection process itself and the disease. According to the data of research, if all women are massively vaccinated, in 50-60 years cervical cancer will disappear at all.

In Ukraine vaccination is recommended for girls and women from 12 years of age. The only contraindication is pregnancy or breastfeeding. Vaccination is conducted in three stages during 6 months. The preparation is introduced into the organism through intramuscular injection. Upon completion of vaccination course a periodical observation with gynecologist is recommended. It should be remembered, that only joint efforts of vaccination and regular preventive examinations will help to protect oneself against cervical cancer.
